ASCORBIC ACID (TECHNICAL GRADE) is a highly pure >99% form of Vitamin C (CAS 50-81-7). This is typically used in industrial, chemical, and manufacturing applications; similar to food grade, but may not meet the stringent contamination requirements of pharmaceutical (USP/BP) standards.

ACID GREEN EVAPORATION AID POWDER is a high-strength dye concentrate. It is used as a eco substitute to methylene blue and is used in brine ponds and industrial water bodies at low ppm dose rates. The product increases solar absorption within the brine mass, which assists evaporation under suitable operating conditions. Typical starting dose is around 4 ppm, with optimisation based on brine composition, pond depth, colour intensity and site conditions. ACID INHIBITOR 396 is a highly effective corrosion inhibitor for acid cleaning solutions. For industrial use only. Use strictly in accordance with Able technical advice. Acid inhibitors are used in industrial cleaning solutions to reduce attack on sound metal, minimise pitting and hydrogen evolution, and extend equipment life while rust, scale and other deposits are dissolved.

Use Recommendations

Typical dosage rate: 0.5–1.0 % v/v of the total acid solution.

Effective in hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid, ammonium bifluoride solutions, citric acid, phosphoric acid, sulfamic acid, oxalic acid, acetic acid, formic acid, sulphuric acid and many other compatible mineral and organic acids (not recommended for use in strongly oxidising acids such as nitric or chromic acid).

Users must carry out their own inhibitor efficacy tests under actual operating conditions to determine safe acid cleaning and descaling procedure. This inhibitor is generally stable in acid cleaning solutions up to 100 °C and forms a protective film on most metal surfaces while allowing existing rust deposits to be dissolved. Inhibited solutions can become exhausted in acid cleaning baths as inhibitor is carried out of the solution on metals and top dosing is recommended into bath. In-use solutions of Able Acid Inhibitor 396 at recommended use rates are nonhazardous, this is not to say that the acid solution will be non-hazardous only the inhibitor component.

Pink Spray – Battery Acid Neutraliser

Pink Spray & Battery Acid Neutraliser. Safety and efficiently clean and neutralize battery terminal corrosion with confidence of inbuilt indicator. Also, safely and confidently neutralize spilt or spent sulphuric acid. Aside from being unsafe and acidic, corrosion on battery terminals is a common cause of reduced battery life and electrical problems in vehicles. Simply spray a liberal amount on the corrosion until the solution on one terminal at a time turns from pink to clear. Once solution remains pink then the acid has been fully neutralized. Wipe area clean with rag and repeat on other terminals. Take care not to over spray and link the terminals with the product as shorting may occur. For spilt or spent battery acid you can use pink liquid to neutralize your acid or to test if your acid has been neutralized.

Boric Acid

BORIC ACID also known as sodium tetraborate decahydrate contains Boron and is commonly used in cleaning remedies, insect eliminators and as a flame retardant for wood and cellulose materials this is a versatile and well established material.

Use Recommendations

Although considered a natural remedy caution should be used when handling this product as boric acid is moderately toxic. A dose of 2 to 3 grams, if ingested by an infant, could be fatal. For children, the fatal dose is 5 to 6 grams, and for adults it is 15 to 20 grams. Consequently, boric acid should be handled with caution and kept out of the reach of children.

Cockroach & Ant Killer

Insects must come in direct contact with material to work, either consumed directly or indirectly after preening feet after walking through material. Apparently works by making insect mouth parts too soft to consume food.

Mix 1 tbsp. each of boric acid, cornmeal, flour and sugar.
Spread a very thin layer on the surface to be treated (so the roaches walk through it) or put the mixture in a shallow dish and place it behind appliances or wherever there are cockroaches and bugs.
You may also wish to add the mixture to a clean squeeze bottle and squirt the powder into cracks, holes and crevices where insects have been seen.

Flea infestations in Carpets

To use as a natural flea repellent simply sprinkling boric acid on all the carpets and furniture throughout the house, making sure to sprinkle under all furniture etc. Vacuum the boric acid up 24 hours later and it is said to prevent fleas for 1 year(from pest removal companies) or until your carpets are shampooed.

Flame Retardant for Wood & General Cellulose Items

Common practice is to prepare a 5% solution with water and soak paper / cellulose / wooden material in it to thoroughly wet. The item is then allow to dry and the material becomes flame retarded. Warning boric acid is water soluble so cotton clothing will not stay flame retarded once washed.

Citric Acid Powder – Food Grade

CITRIC ACID POWDER is a food grade weak organic tribasic acid that resembles coarse white sugar in appearance. Commonly used as a processing aid in the Food Industry or to lower pH industry or as a descaler for heat exchangers and industrial lines.

Use Recommendations

CITRIC ACID POWDER has numerous domestic and janitorial uses which include:

Removing stains from stainless steel when used at 1 part to 9 parts water.
Descale and disinfects inside of washing machine. In an empty washing machine simply add three tablespoons of citric acid, use hot water, and run on the longest cycle.
Descale taps and shower doors, make a solution of one-liter warm water and three tablespoons citric acid. Make sure the acid is dissolved. Spray on let sit for five minutes and wipe clean.
Get a sparkling clean toilet, simply take ¾ cup of citric acid and sprinkle into toilet. Leave in overnight. Do not flush. The next morning brush and flush.
Get rid of wine stains, with one part citric acid and 2 parts baking soda. Sprinkle over the stain; mist with water, until it fizzes, let sit for five minutes, and then scrub away.

INHIBITED DESCALER – LIME & CONCRETE WASH is a highly concentrated “Industrial Acid Wash” for removal of sediments with the added protection of corrosion inhibitors and descaling accelerators. Highly effective for removal of lime, gypsum, concrete and stone dust, calcium, clinkers, cement, concrete dust, hard water deposits, lime, oxides, base rust, scale from most metal surfaces.

Use Recommendations

This product is generally used at concentration from 1:5 to 1:15 parts water depending on application and it is highly recommended that the user application trial/s in an inconspicuous area prior to tacking the larger job at hand. The product can be used via immersion, swab or re circulation techniques. The time taken to descale most items is approximately 10-60 minutes. Such a wide time span is given because results vary depending primarily on scale type and build up, dilution ratio and temperature. HYDROCHLORIC ACID 32% (HCL) is an industrial strength acid commonly used for the removal of scale, lime, calcium, oxides, efflorescence, bore stains, concrete dust and hard water deposits.

NOTE: this is a higher grade hydrochloric acid than the “spent / recovered” type normally found at your local pool shop or hardware store.

Use Recommendations

This product is generally used at concentration from 1:5 to 1:10 parts water depending on application. The product can be used via immersion, swab or recirculation techniques. TIPS:

Before using the product ensure the surface has been pre-cleaned with appropriate cleaner to remove unwanted oil, grease and film.
If the surface is porous (ie bore stain on brick wall) then the surface should be well wetted to avoid acid being wicked into the surface and creating a white haze in the days following, as minerals are leached to the surface.
Once a surface has been cleaned the acid should be washed off as soon as possible with copious amounts of water.
Repeated acid washing may damage some surfaces.
This product may etch, lighten or alter the color of tile, grout, stone and metal surfaces.
Allow all new grout, concrete, cement or masonry to cure per manufacturers specification before using.
